The idea was basically to be as cancerous as possible. I know I have 2 HMGs, but they didn’t do much during that game. They were meant to take out any visible ARO and therefore clear the path for the Puppets.

4.5 SWC | 300 | Open in Infinity Army

My opponent had this weird idea to be extremely offensive, but when he won Initiative Roll he chose that I will go first. The only ARO he left was the delegate.

Deployment

Playing this type of list was a first time for me. I had 2 very similiar combat groups, but yet so different. I tried to spread my Alguaciles and Jaguar evenly on the field, seperating 2 of the same units from one CG from each other. One of my Intruders (bottom right) was mean to take out the Delegate on the opposite side of the field while, the other was to remain hidden on the sniper tower. Morans were put up defensively, Morlocks offensively, and Zero FO in a safe spot in the middle scoring zone. Then in reserve I’ve put puppets on my left flank.

Turn 1

Top of 1 – Nomads

Turn 1 was fairly straightforward. Intruder under the smoke took out the Delegate, and then the Puppets went on their way. One puppet dodged a mine from Liberto in enemy scoring zone. And then pop up on the Neema with double Makaul Triad. I tried to shoot but Neema hit my Puppetbot, while Makauls succeeded in throwing down Eclipse smokes. I couldn’t reach them anymore so I turned my attention to Makauls with a Baggage Chaksa not far away. 2 orders to reach them and I exchange a Puppetbot for 3 Makauls and a Baggage Chaksa (all Makauls tried to throw Eclipse and Chaksa used the Flamethrower). I rolled sth along the lines of 17 and they all failed their saves.

Then I moved the 2nd group (Intruder taking down Delegate was in that group too!). Morlock rolled 8-4 MOV from MetaChemistry – how convenient. Fast approach to Sukeul/Taagma (disguised as Kriigel)/Makaul triad. Smoke thrown to conceal himself from Krakot. Sneak approach on ladder and then rush into b2b with Sukeul. Multiple AROs, I decide to Chain taking down the Symbiomate from Sukeul (and his Symbiont Armor I think?) and dying in return with the Morlock. At the end I put up Suppresive Fire on my Intruder and make a Climb with Jaguar so that he stands next to him.

Bottom of 1 – Tohaa

Group one got decimated with the loss of 4 Orders. With the remaining ones Neema (after Triad broke) tried taking down one of the Puppets but gets shot once instead. On the other side of the table Sukeul pops up into view of Intruder, Warcor and Jaguar. Jaguars puts down smoke vs 1 bullet from Sukeul, Warcor dies to the other bullet and Intruder puts his one shot (I knew we were above 24” since his Delegate was almost next to the Sukeul) over 3 shots from HMG and Sukeul loses his Symbiont Armor. Then Tohaa player tries another approach. Kerail goes forward, but when his Surda popped into view of Intruder she gets shot once, into Dogged. Then another Order to take town Morlock on my right table edge and a mine behind him, while eating another bullet from Intruder (which currently has cover of smoke). Kerail went into SF and Krakot took a position next to him.

Turn 2

Top of 2 – Nomads

I noticed Neema got left out in the open so my other Intruder with the use of smoke put her down.

(Post game view of the table. Bottom left is my HMG Intruder (SinEater) and Neema was standing 5-6 inches in front of my Puppetbot (top left).)

Puppets went on to kill of the Neema’s Makauls, go on the left topside tower to kill the CoC Kaeltar and back down to take down Liberto (while tanking his 2 mines) and the remaining Makaul shot in the back.
Next on the right flank my Liberto goes around the Krakot and Kerail to shoot them both with his Light Shotgun. 3 Orders later Liberto is in V:Dogged, while Krakot and Kerail are dead.
Back to Puppets, one of them climb onto the HDF building to have view on Taagma and shoots both Taagma and Sukeul dead.
Liberto continues into enemy DZ to exchange in previous to final Order his Chain-colt with FO Kamael’s Combi. Kamael fails to hit me and fails his save.

Bottom of 2 – Tohaa

At this point Tohaa player find himself having just 3 Chaksa’s on table, in LoL and not in Retreat!. With 3 CTs remaining he Coordinates chaksas to move and try reaching my units. One goes down to Intruder. Another Order to try and reach my PuppetBot to steal at least some points, but this one also dies to Intruder. At this point Tohaa conceded.

Post Game Analysis

So, the massacre conclude. Intruders killed 2 model (Neema was the important one tough), but most of the heavy lifting was done by a triple FO, Boarding Shotgun Puppetbot Troupe, a Morlock and Liberto. They killed all of the units -2 in my active turn. My opponent basically gave me a free field (which was super weird due to the fact that it was a local league game). Going second with such a list was one of the worst ideas he could have had.
Then again I didn’t have too much ARO to defend myself as well. Probably exchanging an Intruder into MSR Spektr would have been better.
I could have saved some orders on Puppets movement if I predicted the need to go around to Makauls, and Morlock on turn 1 wasted some orders shooting each other with Krakot with their Pistols.
I also thought about writing in with games from local Boarding Action torunament with Limited Insertion extra, but despite me finding this format quite interesting for 300 points I decided not to, due to the nature of Boarding Action limiting the Burst 4+ weapons heavily anyways.
